Shirley Deborah Welt, age 90 years, of Bridgewater, NJ, died on Friday, February 9, 2007 at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, NJ.

Born in New York City, NY, daughter of the late Max and Yetta Held, she had resided at Chelsea of Bridgewater for the past seven months, having previously lived at Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls, NJ and Wynmoor Village in Coconut Creek, FL prior to that.

A former middle school Teacher of Ceramics in Brooklyn, NY, Mrs. Welt was a lifelong member of Hadassah as well as a faithful supporter of the United States Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. and Brandeis Women. A family-orientated person and talented sculptor, she enjoyed keeping up with current events around the world.

Her husband, Frank Welt, died in 1978. She was also pre-deceased by two sisters, Esther Klein and Nettie Weber.

Surviving are a son, Martin J. Welt of Nobleboro, ME; two daughters, Roni Stolpen of Branchburg, NJ and Elisabeth Novotny of Chatsworth, CA; a brother, Lawrence S. Held of Lahabra, CA; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Monday at 9:00 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Beth Moses Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. Please visit www.holcombefisher.com for further information or to send condolences.
