Shirley E. Toka, age 65 years, died Friday, January 19, 2018 in Deltona FL. She lived in Burlington County NJ most of her life before moving to Florida seven years ago. Born September 15, 1952 in Somerville NJ, Shirley was the daughter of the late Clarence Bishop and the late Marion Phillips. Proud of her service to her country, Shirley served in the United States Air Force from 1971 through 1979 where she was stationed in the Philippines during the Vietnam War and later in Texas. Shirley worked as a chef for the Lambertville Station for many years. Shirley had an incredible green thumb. Her flower gardens were a thing of botanical beauty, enjoyed by all those who visited her home. Her interests also included listening to all kinds of music, she loved to sing and dance whenever she found the inspiration. Most of all, she loved being a grandmom, to her three grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, Shirley is survived by her son, Scott Toka of Pennsylvania, her daughter and son-in-law, Robyn and Michael Soliday of Orange City FL, her grandsons, Gerry and Arthur Soliday, and her granddaughter, Madelyn Voorhees. She is also survived by her brother, Larry Bishop of Florida, her sister, Geraldine and her husband, Robert Eckstein of Virginia, and her sister, Carol of North Carolina, as well as several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will Military Honors officiated by the Rev. Michael Atzert will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Holcombe Riverview Cemetery, River Road, Lambertville NJ. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. There are no calling hours.
