Shirley Brokaw, 94, Flemington, NJ, passed peacefully on Monday, September 10, 2018 at her place of residence, Little Brook Home, in Califon, NJ. Shirley was born at her grandparent’s farmhouse on Summer Road, Readington Township, on September the 2nd of 1924. She was the daughter of Edna Kuhl Bauer. After marriage she worked side by side farming with her husband. In addition, she worked part-time for many years at the Hunterdon Medical Center and later at Flemington Cut Glass. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene Brokaw, and a daughter, Deborah Ann. Shirley is survived by two daughters, Betty Jean Baggerly and Linda Lou Pine, and their respective husbands, Robert and Harvey; a sister, Louisa Cole and her husband Robert; two sisters-in-law, Carol Hrubesh and Betty Brandenburg and her husband George; Her family includes eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She has many cousins and their extended families. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Shirley’s life at a Graveside Memorial at Three Bridges Reformed Church Cemetery on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, her wish was to have memorial contributions to the Three Bridges Reformed Church, PO Box 235, 470 Main Street, Three Bridges, NJ 08887.
