Sofia Del Campo

Sofia del Campo, age 81 years, of East Amwell Township, NJ, died on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at her daughter's home.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, September 5, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Anna Demka.

She had formerly resided in Granby, CT for over fifty years with her late husband Edward.

She is survived by her children; George and his wife, Anne, and Richard and his wife, Lucille, both of Granby, CT., and her daughter, Ann Laura del Campo, of Hopewell, NJ, who lovingly cared for her for two and a half years. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Christine Cianfarani, April, Douglas, Alex, George, Jr.(Joe), Aaron, Jacob, Luke, and Laura del Campo, and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Edward, she was pre-deceased by her brother, Fernando.

Sofia was a warm and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her cozy, welcoming kitchen was always a haven for her children, their friends, and her grandchildren. She has passed on her love of art, music, cooking, crafts, reading, and gardening to the next generations.

There will be a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at the Senior Center in Granby, CT from 2-4 PM. Friends and neighbors are welcome to attend and share memories. All other funeral arrangements and interment will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemignton, NJ.
