Sophie Eleonore Banczak

Sophie Eleonore Banczak, age 63 years, of Franklin Township, NJ, died Saturday, August 10, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Cherbourg, France, June 13, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Jan and Janine Pinel Kobylarz and sister of the late Christopher Kobylarz.

Sophie worked as a graphic designer and was a special education aide at North Hunterdon High School. She retired in August 2019.

In her spare time she loved sewing, refinishing old furniture, gardening, and caring for her family and granddaughter. She was a talented artist and always enjoyed sharing her creativity with others. Her favorite place was the shore. Whenever the family visits the ocean they remember fond memories with Sophie. Sophie was energetic and loved dancing and listening to music.

Surviving are her husband of thirty-six years, Robert Banczak; two daughters, Fabienne Michele Calkins of Lawrenceville, NJ, Serine Clarice Banczak of Dayton, OH, and one grandchild, Olympia Calkins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 AM in the funeral home.
