Stanley J. "Stash" Soltys

Stanley J. Soltys, age 78 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at his residence.

Born in Newark, NJ, October 18, 1927, he was the son of the late Paul and Mary Adamski Soltys. He was a resident of the Ironbound section of Newark before moving to Tuckerton, NJ, and eventually Flemington Borough.

He was a truck driver for Hemminger Sheet Metal, Newark, NJ, for over thirty years.

He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

He enjoyed crabbing and clamming.

He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-seven years, Shirley Soden Soltys; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ron Norwood, of Flemington, NJ; a son, Bruce Soltys, Sr.; devoted grandfather of Edward Soltys and wife Dawn, of Absecon, NJ, and Bruce Soltys, Jr., of Newark, NJ; step-grandfather of Shannon Johnson and Jacob Norwood of Texas; loving great-grandfather of Brandon Soltys of Absecon, NJ; step great-grandfather of Eric Stanfield and Savannah Johnson of Texas; two brothers, Tony Soltys of Edison, NJ, and Paul Soltys and wife Evelyn of Seaside Heights, NJ; a sister, Mary Clarke and husband Shelly of Edison, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 8:30 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-8:30 PM in the funeral home.
