Stanley Richard Colby, age 59 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Shenandoah, PA, December 18, 1952, son of Dorothy Mary Prymak Colby of Whitehouse Station, NJ and the late Richard W. Colby, he had resided in Delaware Township for the past twenty-five years, having formerly lived in Raritan Township and Flemington, NJ.
A graduate of Bridgewater West High School, Somerville, NJ, Mr. Colby was a Truck Driver for Magna-Power, Flemington, NJ, the Flemington Department Store, Flemington, NJ and Fox Lumber, Clinton, NJ.
He was a former member of the Army National Guard and a longtime member of Cornerstone Christian Church, Locktown, NJ. A Life Member of the Sergeantsville Volunteer Fire Co., Sergeantsville, NJ, Mr. Colby was formerly a member of both the Flemington Fire Department and Quakertown Fire Co. as well as the Flemington-Raritan First Aid & Rescue Squad.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of thirty-five years, Debra Marion Culberson Colby; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy R. and Amy Colby of Pt. Pleasant, NJ; a son, Peter J. Colby of Delaware Township, NJ; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon A. and Chris Szymanski of Hampton, NJ; two granddaughters, Megan and Ashley Szymanski; and a third granddaughter due in May to Jeremy and Amy.
Funeral Services will take place Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ. Calling hours will be Thursday from 1:00-3:00 and 6:00-9:00 p.m. with Fire Department Services at 7:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
