Stephanie Orashen

Stephanie S. Orashen (nee Skworzec) of Raritan Township, NJ, passed away in her home at the age of 91, on July 22, 2014.

Born on February 26, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Aniela “Nellie” Pekala and Michael Skworzec of Trenton NJ.

She is survived by her beloved and loving husband of more than 41 years, Richard H. Orashen of Raritan Township NJ, and her four children; Linda A. Patt (Gregory) of Mesa, AZ., Leo N. Orsi Jr. of Tampa FL, Jacquelyn D. Suozzo of Easton PA, and Cynthia D. Orsi of Flemington NJ.

Stephanie was blessed with six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her sisters Stella Skworzec and Charlotte (Lottie) Westenberger, as well as two brothers, Edward and Wesley.

Stephanie attended Saint Hedwig Roman Catholic Church and School in Trenton NJ. She began her career as a timekeeper for De Laval and retired from Princeton University Animal Behavior Psychology Department as a technologist, participating in numerous published studies.

Stephanie was an expert seamstress, and produced meticulous needlework. Her garden reflected her love of nature’s beauty. She was an avid and passionate fan of the NY Yankees. She enjoyed a life of reading and education!

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday July 30, 2014 at the Flemington Presbyterian Church, 10 East Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Family and friends may call at the church beginning 1 pm until the time of service. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephanie’s name may be made to Hunterdon Hospice, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822.
