Stephen A. Borucki, Jr., age 83 years, of Flemington, NJ, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in New York City, NY, June 17, 1941, he was the son of the late Stephen Borucki, Sr., and Helen (Platenchuk) Borucki. He had resided in Three Bridges, NJ and Flemington Borough, NJ for most of his life.
He was a graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School with the Class of 1960. A Vietnam War veteran, Steve honorably served in the United States Army from 1961-1964.
Steve was an electrician by trade, first employed by the RCA Corporation, Bridgewater, NJ, then by Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, NJ, and finally as facility manager for Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Hopewell, NJ, from which he retired.
A longtime member of the Flemington Volunteer Fire Department, Steve served in many capacities there over the years. Most notably, as Fire Chief from 1996-1998 and later as Department President. Additionally, he was a member of the NJ State Exempt Firemen’s Association and American Legion Post #159, Flemington, NJ.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, boating, cooking, barbequing, and traveling, especially on several cruises. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Borucki, who died in 2003.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 56 years, Sandra (Barnes) Borucki of Flemington, NJ; four daughters and their spouses, Christine Thompson (husband Dave) of Franklin Township, NJ, Michele Johnson (husband Bill) of Three Bridges, NJ, Stephanie Preston (husband Charles) also of Three Bridges, NJ, and Jennifer Sponzo (husband Kevin) of Flemington, NJ; and eleven grandchildren: Alison (Michael), Natalie (Tyler), Courtney (Shayne), Caroline, Madison, Jordan, Anabelle, Demetrius, Jocelyn, Brady, and Charlotte.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. The services will conclude with a firemen's service & military honors at 7:00 PM in the funeral home. The following evening, Friday, January 3, 2025 at 5:00 PM, a celebration of Steve's life will be held at the Flemington Fire Department, 38 Park Avenue, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private.
