Susan Cornick Stothoff

d. December 27, 2014

Susan Cornick Stothoff, age 55, died Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ.

Born April 13, 1959 in Yonkers, NY, Susan was the daughter of Louis and Joan Cornick. She and her family moved to Flemington in 1970, where she joined the Flemington Baptist Church almost immediately. She was an active member there, being one of the first “teens” placed as a junior board member. She was also an active Brownie and Girl Scout, and a member of the Valley Club Swim Team for four years.

Susan was active in Hunterdon Central Regional High School (Class of 1977), always volunteering her time and talents. She graduated from Albright College in 1981 and married John Stothoff in 1985. Susan became enchanted with the ponies on Chincoteague Island (VA), so she and John bought one which lived on the island, but each year they would go down to see her.

Susan was employed by Prudential Insurance Company for several years, and she also worked as a pharmacy tech in several pharmacies until illness took over her life, from which she succumbed.

Susan is survived by her husband, John Stothoff, her parents, Joan and Louis Cornick of Flemington, NJ, her brother, Bob Cornick of Buford, GA, and her brother, Philip Cornick of Jackson, NJ.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Flemington Baptist Church, 170 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Interment in Fairmount Cemetery in San Angelo, TX, will follow at a later date.

Memorial donations in Susan's name may be made to the Flemington Baptist Church, 170 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, Flemington, NJ.
