Susan Strober Comerford

Susan Frances Strober Comerford, age 59 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, passed peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, April 4, 1964, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Marilyn (Monfort) Stewart. At the age of three, she and her family moved to Flemington, NJ and she had been a resident of Hunterdon County, NJ ever since.

She was a graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School with the Class of 1982. Throughout her life, she was employed in several fields including banking, real estate, Strober Roofing, and as a registrar for the Hunterdon Medical Center.

In her spare time, Sue enjoyed numerous hobbies. She absolutely loved cooking for family and friends alike, and especially loved making Italian food, stuffed artichokes, her mother’s famous meatball recipe, and brisket. In addition, she loved animals and nature and would enjoy hikes at local parks, making annual trips to Long Beach Island, NJ, and sitting out on her back patio overlooking her backyard pond.

Sue enjoyed entertaining most of all. Whether it was hanging out by the pool, the fire pit, or hosting all the holidays, she was always the life of the party.

Above all else, she will be remembered as a full-time mother and grandmother who loved her children and grandchildren endlessly.

Sue is remembered for her heart of gold and opening her doors to all without ever passing judgement. She was an incredible mother, sister, wife, and friend to all.

Surviving are her husband of nine years, Kevin J. Comerford of Flemington, NJ; her three boys and their partners, Daniel Strober (Samantha) of Flemington, NJ, Clint Strober (Brittany) of Readington, NJ, Colby Strober (Liv) of Flemington, NJ; as well as Kevin’s children, Joseph Comerford (Jessica) of Georgia, Sara Pierson (Michael) of Okinawa, Japan, Brandon Comerford (Lauren) of Virginia; her four grandchildren; her four siblings, John Stewart (Sue), Glenn Stewart (Cindy), Gordon Stewart (Shelly), and Susan Scarborough; as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 12 Noon at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. A funeral service will immediately follow the gathering at 12 Noon in the funeral home.

After initial services have concluded, private cremation and burial will take place at the family plot in St. Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
