Susanna Kessel

Susanna Kessel, age 89 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at her residence.

Born in Weilau, Romania, February 27, 1916, she was the daughter of the late John and Susanna Tinnes Botscher. She immigrated to the United States in 1952, previously residing in Stockton, NJ.

Mrs. Kessel was a homemaker and mother to ten children. She had many interests, including gardening, cooking, and spending time with her friends, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Perryville, NJ, and was a charter member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Flemington, NJ.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kessel was pre-deceased by her husband, Michael Kessel, Sr.; two sons, Michael and George, and a sister, Rosina.

She is survived by three daughters; Susan Kopp, of Pattenburg, NJ, Kathy Kessel, of Edison, NJ, and Rose Coraci, of Stewartsville, NJ; five sons; John of Reilingen, Germany, Samuel, of Whitehouse, NJ, Jakob, of Milford, NJ, Erwin, of Flemington, NJ, and Alfred, of Milford, NJ; twenty-one grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
