Born in New Bethlehem, PA on January 4, 1899, he was the son of the late Frank Putney and Clara Corbett.
Mr. Putney was a veteran of World War I.
He then became an New York University professor.
Taylor was survived by his wife, Helen (Fletcher) Putney.
Interment in New Bethlehem, PA.
