Tessie E. Buczynski, age 91 years, of Glen Gardner, NJ, died on Saturday, February 7, 2009, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Manhattan, NY, January 19, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Gregory and Anna Melinowski Kawalczyk.
Tessie was an avid reader and lover of nature.
She worked in retail and upon retirement worked at the Hunterdon Occupational Training Center.
She served in the WACS during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post #159, Flemington, NJ..
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Edwin, in 1969, and a son, Gregory, who served with the 173rd Airborne and was the first Hunterdon County casualty of the Vietnam War. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Barbara Buczynski, of Alexandria Township, NJ and grandchildren Joshua, Rebekah, and Lauren; a daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Randy MacDade, of Mt. Airy, NJ, and grandchildren Luke MacDade, Amy Weber and husband Dr. Stuart Weber, and Penelope DeAngelo and husband Michael; and great-grandchildren, Lance Corporal Charles Weber, USMC, Michael Weber, Jonathan Weber, and Chloe DeAngelo; a sister, Carol Anderson, of South Carolina; two nieces, Patti and Linda, and a nephew, Joey; three step-grandchildren: Scott, Jeff, and Traci; and eight step great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at 10:30 AM in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 9-10 AM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 Eighteenth Street NW, Washington, DC 20006-3517.
