Thelma Elizabeth Kuhl, age 84 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died on Thursday, November 6, 2008 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Lebanon, NJ, February 17, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Judiah and Deretha Daniel Zielstorff. She was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County.
She was a 1942 graduate of Flemington High School, Flemington, NJ. She was formerly employed by the Agway Store, Nevious Brothers, and Dunhams Department Store, all in Flemington.
She was a member of the Flemington Presbyterian Church, the Grandview Grange, the Flemington American Legion Post #159 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Bucket Brigade of the Three Bridges Volunteer Fire Company. She was a longtime volunteer at the Flemington Area Food Pantry.
Her husband, Donald H. Kuhl, died in 2002. She was also pre-deceased by a sister, Alma Stellitano, in 2005. Surviving are two daughters, Darlene Hoopes of LaCanada, CA, and Elizabeth Doby of Flemington, NJ; a son, Donald R. Kuhl of Easton, PA; a grandson, Bradford Hoopes of Slidell, LA; and two granddaughters, Darby Hoopes of La Canada, CA, and Cassandra Kuhl of Easton, PA.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours.
