Thelma J. Cummins

Thelma J. Cummins, age 82 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Saturday, August 21, 2004 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ.

Born in Jermyn, PA, November 27, 1921, daughter of the late Teofil and madeline Modzelewski Gardeski, she had formerly resided in Bridgewater, NJ, before moving to Raritan Township in 1994.

A teacher, she formerly taught economics and business education at South Plainfield High School. She was a graduate of Marywood College and was a member of the Flemington Womans Club.

Her husband, Benjamin Cummins, died in 1970. Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer DeSantis of Belle Mead, NJ and Janine Sgroi of Lebanon, NJ; two sons, Brian Cummins of Mooresville, NC and William Cummins of Flemington, NJ; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Entombment will follow in St. Magdalen Mausoleum, Flemington, NJ.
