Theodore Horowitz

Theodore Horowitz, age 90 years, of Allentown, PA, died on Friday, January 19, 2007 in Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown, PA.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, October 16, 1916, son of the late Kalman and Nettie Diamond Horowitz, he had resided in the Bethlehem and Allentown areas for the past few years. Prior to that, he had previously resided in Kingwood Township, NJ, Flemington, NJ and Bonita Springs, FL.

Mr. Horowitz was formerly a Bookkeeper for Diamond Glass in Peth Amboy, NJ prior to becoming a Poultry Farmer with Levine's Poultry Farm, Kingwood Township, NJ during the 1940's to the 1970's.

A member of the Flemington Jewish Community Center, Flemington, NJ, Mr. Horowitz was also a member of the Flemington Farmers Cooperative, the Patriotic Order Sons of America, and served on the Kingwood Township and Delaware Valley Regional High School Boards of Education during the 1950's and 1960's.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Charlotte Levine Horowitz in 1977; a daughter, Linda K. Hammer in 1990; and a son, Kenneth Lee Horowitz in 2006.

Surviving are his wife of twenty years, Shirley Darling Horowitz; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald S. and Susan Horowitz of Belle Mead, NJ; a step-son, Timothy Schott of Forks Township, PA; a step-daughter, Nancy Schott Gorcyzski of Bethlehem, PA; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
