Theresa Ann Matthews

Theresa Ann Matthews, 76, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2022 at Rolling Hills Care Center in Clinton Township NJ.

Born August 9, 1945 in New Brunswick NJ, Theresa was the daughter of the late Rose (Sarlo) Matthews and Norman Matthews, She spent her childhood growing up in Flemington, New Jersey.

After graduating from Hunterdon Central High School, she went on to become a licensed practical nurse. She spent many years raising her family in Middlesex, NJ and Hatfield, PA, before returning to her hometown to live out the rest of her days.

Theresa was a proud single mother to four loving children. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

Theresa was a long time member of the Catholic Church and took great comfort in her faith. Theresa enjoyed reading books, cooking and writing letters.

Theresa is survived by her four beloved children: daughter Tracy Finocchio, and her husband, Richard of Hatfield, PA; daughter Donna Fontanazza, and her husband, Anthony of Oveido, FL; son Toke Thatcher, and his wife, Nancy of Annandale NJ; son Jesse Yerton, and his wife, Aimee of Telford, PA; her loving brother, Norman (Ann) Matthews, Jr;and her loving sister, Hannah Goldt; Theresa is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Bianca, Richard III (Bub), Rose, Paul, Tina, Marissa, Tanner, Skylar; five great-grandchildren, Vinny, Izzy, Lauren, Freya, and Theia, and several nieces and nephews. “AM” will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Flemington NJ. Calling hours will be Monday from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the funeral home.
