Theresa McInerney, age 92 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at Independence Manor, Raritan Township, NJ, where she resided.
Born in New York City, NY, April 14, 1914, daughter of the late Martino and Antonia Scoffea Aurigemma, she had resided in Raritan Township, NJ since 2003, having previously lived all of her life in Manhattan, NY.
She was a Secretary for over forty years in the schools of the Archdiocese of New York in Manhattan. She was a longtime Communicant of Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Manhattan, NY as well as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Colombus, Knickerbocker Council #221 in Manhattan, NY.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Aloysius McInerney in 1967, a sister, Phyllis "Mimi" Palumbo in 2005, and a brother, Joseph Aurigemma.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Marty and Debbie McInerney of Raritan Township, NJ and Joseph and Carol McInerney of Port Charlotte, FL; four grandchildren, Stephanie McInerney of New York City, NY, Alissa McInerney of Raritan Township, NJ, Karen Salsman of Port Charlotte, FL and Joseph McInerney of Port Charlotte, FL; three great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marie Aurigemma of Brooklyn, NY; and several close nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
