Thomas Allen Burry, age 85 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Friday, September 29, 2017 in Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ.
Born in Toronto, Canada, December 28, 1931, he was the son of the late Allen and Kathleen Higley Burry.
Allen was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.
In 1961, he founded The Fudge Shoppe on Route 202 in Raritan Township, NJ.
He was a member of South Branch Bible Fellowship, Hillsborough, NJ and formerly of the Middlesex Chapel.
A son, Allen Burry, died in 1988. Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Anna Blackford Burry; his daughters, Leslie Pettenati of Delaware Township, NJ, and Susan Gilchrest of Kingwood Township, NJ; a son, Stephen Burry of Union Township, Hunterdon County, NJ; a brother, George “Bud” Burry of Easton, PA; his grandchildren: Thomas, Brandon, Adam, Dana, Leanne, Brayden, Kaylee, and Grayson; and his great-grandchildren: Levi, Ryan, and Braxton.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 7 PM in South Ridge Community Church, 7 Pittstown Rd, Clinton, NJ. Interment will be private in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
