Thomas W. Sabo, age 64, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at his home in Raritan Township, NJ. Born September 12, 1950 in Rahway, NJ, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Lukach) Sabo. Tom received his Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University and retired from Merck + Company in Rahway and Whitehouse, NJ. While living in Rahway, Tom was a member of the Elks Club in Carteret, NJ. He was a car enthusiast, a coin and stamp collector, a football fan, especially of the Scarlet Knights, and enjoyed his yardwork and gardening. In recent years, he could be found spending much time with his poodle, Holly. Predeceased by his parents, Tom is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Barbara A. (Verrastro) Sabo, his son, Anthony J.T. Sabo, D.O. of Owings Mills, MD, and Anthony’s fiancé, Sarah Park, D.O. of Allentown, PA, his brothers, Joseph S. Sabo of Carteret, NJ, and James R. Sabo of Metuchen, NJ, as well as several nieces, nephews and special friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. Entombment will follow at St. Magdalen Mausoleum in Flemington. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
