Veronica R. Winar

Veronica R. Winar, age 84 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, January 20, 1926, daughter of the late Michael and Magdalena Degutes Matunas, she had resided in Flemington for the past ten years, having formerly lived in Roselle, NJ.

A homemaker, she was a former longtime communicant of St. Joseph the Carpenter Church, Roselle, NJ.

Her husband, Joseph J. Winar, died in 1974. She was also pre-deceased by a son, Phillip J. Winar in 1982 and a grandson, Thomas M. Winar in 2006.

Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Muller of Raritan Township, NJ and Karen M. Gicking of Neptune, NJ; two sons, Thomas M. Winar of Indian Beach, NC and Karl J. Winar of Raritan Township, NJ; and seven grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ. Calling hours will be Sunday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
