Veta Lentine Garrison, age 86 years, of Watkinsville, GA, died on Saturday, August 29, 2009, in St. Mary's Hospital, Athens, GA.
Born in Flemington NJ, February 17, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Angelina Ingoglia Lentine.
During World War II, Mrs. Garrison manufactured torpedo bombers at Easton Aircraft and later worked in a plant manufacturing sulfa drugs. She later was employed as a cafeteria worker with the Flemington-Raritan School System and worked at Yale Manufacturing, Raritan Township, NJ. She also painted birds at Stangl Pottery, Flemington, NJ.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Neil Joseph Garrison in 1991. Surviving are two sons, Leonard Garrison of Watkinsville, GA, and Arthur Garrison of Endicott, NY; a sister, Geraldine Wendlinger of Flemington, NJ; and four grandchildren: Brian, Michael, Julia, and Neil Garrison.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
