Victor D. Droppa

Victor D. Droppa, age 89 years, of Honesdale, PA, died on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at his residence.

Born in New York City, NY, November 10, 1919, he was the son of the late Victor and Irene Liskai Droppa, Sr. He had formerly resided in Franklin Township, Hunterdon County for sixty-five years, and in Honesdale since 1984.

He attended a one room schoolhouse in Quakertown, NJ, and was a 1937 graduate of Flemington High School.

He was a farmer and also worked for Agway, Clinton, NJ, retiring in 1992.

He was a seventy-five year member of the Quakertown United Methodist Church. He resided with his wife on their Revelation Springs country property. He was a member of many farm organizations. He loved the great outdoors with the open spaces and the colorful seasons. He loved the wildlife in the area, which many remarked as a sportsman’s paradise. He remained active at grounds maintenance.

He is survived and loved by his wife Faith Hommer Droppa of 58 years; a daughter Dianne Hatcher, and her husband Rod Hatcher, of Saylorsburg, PA and three sons; David V. Droppa, Levittown, PA, Daniel A. Droppa and his wife Jill, of Madison Township, Moscow, PA, Douglas R. Droppa and companion Denny Dean of Galeton, PA and five grandchildren Timothy and Jonathan Hatcher, and Katalin, Kurtis, and Logan Droppa.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 10 AM until time of service in the funeral home.
