Vincent Vitucci, age 67 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Thursday, September 22, 2011, at his home after a long illness.
Born in Santa Barbara, CA, October 26, 1943, he was the son of the late Vincent and Veronica Foley Vitucci of Staten Island, NY. He had resided in Raritan Township, NJ since 1984.
He was a United States Navy veteran having served aboard the USS Keppler DD765, Newport, RI from 1962-1964.
He was a Communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ.
Vince was a 1978 graduate of St. John's University and retired from the New York City Police Department in 1981. While on the NYPD, he worked undercover in midtown Manhattan, Brooklyn, and various precincts in New York, finishing his career at Police Headquarters. After retiring from the NYPD, Vince worked in Manhattan as a Vice President for Merrill Lynch, IBM, Credit Suisse, Emigrant Bank and Franklin Templeton traveling to South America, London, and Scotland in the field of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity. He was a board member of the Contingency Planning Exchange based in Manhattan.
Surviving are his wife of forty-three years, Jan Egan Vitucci; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and David Conti of Clinton, NJ, Amy and Jesse Gross of Raritan Township, NJ, and Beth and Andrew Rathbun of Raritan Township, NJ; and six grandchildren: Kyle and Sarah Conti, Adam Stastny and Jessica Gross, and Lauren and Ryan Rathbun; his brothers, Gary and Robert Vitucci; and a sister, Patricia Vitucci. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brother Richard.
Funeral services and interment will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
