Virginia M. Allegar

Virginia M. Allegar, age 92 years, of Flemington, NJ, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, NJ on August 7, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Frances (King) Taylor. She had resided in both Warren and Hunterdon Counties the entirety of her life, primarily for thirty-six years in Cherryville, NJ.

She was a housekeeper for the Mergentine Family and the Chandoha Family, both of Franklin Township, NJ.

Virginia was a member of the Cherryville Baptist Church for over fifty years and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Quakertown Fire Company.

She was pre-deceased by her nine siblings and her husband, Walter Allegar, who died in 2011; as well as her daughters, Ruth Ward and Sandra Johnston.

Surviving is her son, Anthony Allegar, and several nieces and nephews and friends.

There will be a graveside service in Cherryville Cemetery at a later date and time to be announced.
