Virginia Ann Hartley

Virginia Ann Hartley, age 89 years, of Bonita Springs FL, died on Thursday, March 3, 2016. Born December 1, 1926, in Flemington NJ, 'Gini' was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Fulper) Lesson. Gini completed her nurses training at Muehlenberg Hospital in 1947, and, as an RN, worked in Flemington until her marriage to Fred Jack Hartley in 1951. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 11 of this year. Gini served on the Board of the Visiting Homemakers of Hunterdon County, and was active in the Republican Party and her church. Gini was a gifted seamstress and will be remembered, amongst many talents, for the clothing she made for her family, and herself, as well as brilliant sweaters and needlepoint. She was an avid bridge player, and formed life-long friendships with her bridge partners. She was also long known as the enthusiastic and fearless co-pilot on many of her husband's flights around the country throughout their marriage. Surviving are her husband of sixty-five years, Fred Jack Hartley; three children, Ann Hartley of Fort Myers, Fl., John Hartley of Venice, CA. and Scott Hartley of Mt. Pleasant, NJ and a granddaughter. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19, 11:00AM, at the Friendship Grace Brethren Church in Ft. Myers, FL. Graveside services will be held Monday, March 21, 2016, at 10:00 AM in Newell Cemetery, Stanton NJ under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, Flemington, NJ.
