Virginia L. Covello

March 2, 1930 — March 27, 2022

Our Mother, Virginia Mary Lee Covello, of Asbury, NJ, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022, after a short illness.

Born March 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Erlo and Blanche (Lowe) Lee. She was valedictorian at her high school in Sherrill, NY and she went on to attend Syracuse University where she met her husband, Frank Covello, who was studying engineering through the GI Bill. She left in her third year to get married and they moved to NJ. She was widowed in 1974.

Mom is survived by three children. Her daughter Janet and her husband James Hanrahan of Asbury, NJ, and daughter Linda and son Larry both of Pequannock, NJ. She also leaves a granddaughter, Kaitlyn married to Daniele Isidori, and two great granddaughters, Aurora and Lavinia of Rome, Italy.

Mom had many accomplishments. She was an expert knitter, making many beautiful things for her children, granddaughter, great-grandchildren and many family and friends. She also belonged to the Knitting Group at St. Magdalen Roman Catholic Church in Flemington, NJ, where her work was given to local charities. Mom was also a student of history, especially the Civil War. In addition, she had a great interest in archaeology and Egyptian history.

We will cherish all the time we were able to spend with her and all the time she could spend with her great-grandchildren.

We love you, Mom. Say hi to everyone!

Private arrangements and cremation services are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
