Virginia McCrann, age 95 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Manor Care, New Providence, NJ.

Born in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Arthur G. and Theresa Schweizer Jackson, she had formerly resided in Frenchtown, NJ, Kingwood Township, NJ, Maple Shade, NJ and Cherry Hill, NJ before moving to Raritan Township twenty-four years ago.

Virginia was a retired teacher and Professor. She taught in the Frenchtown Public Schools and the Bernardsville Public Schools and later taught at Baldwin-Wallace College, Berea, OH. and then at Glassboro State College (now Rowan University). Virginia received her BS and MA degrees from Rutgers University in Home Economics.

She was a member and deacon of the Flemington Presbyterian Church and a member of its' Womens Association; was Past President of the NJ State Federation of Woman's Clubs; was a member of the Flemington Woman's Club; a former volunteer at the Consignment Shop, Flemington, NJ; a volunteer with the Hunterdon Board of Elections and served as a docent at Rosenbach Museum and Library, Philadelphia, PA.

Her husband, Raymond McCrann, died in 1959 and her sister, Marilyn Jackson, died in 2010

Surviving are a son, Raymond McCrann and his wife, Beverly of New Providence, NJ; three grandchildren, Kim Cudzik and her husband John of Williamsburg, VA., Patrick McCrann and his wife, Doris Ann of Bernardsville, NJ, and Amy Smith and her husband, Bradford of Chatham, NJ; seven great grandchildren, Matthew, Delaney and Jack Cudzik, Dalton and Austin McCrann, and Samuel and Logan Smith as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at 12 Noon in the Flemington Presbyterian Church, Main Street, Flemington, NJ, followed by interment in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Wednesday 10:00AM-12 Noon at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Flemington Presbyterian Church, 10 East Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
