W. Gay Pfahler

W. Gay Pfahler, age 73 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Thursday, July 7, 2016, at her home.

Born in Philadelphia, PA., May 6, 1943, daughter of the late Joseph and Nina Otrich Swerk, she had resided in the Flemington, NJ area since 1968 and had formerly resided in Bucks County, PA.

Gay was a former loan officer with the Flemington National; Bank & Trust Co., Flemington, NJ.

A graduate of Centenary College, Hackettstown, NJ, Gay was a former President of the Board of Trustees of the Hunterdon YMCA; a member of the Flemington Woman's Club; and the Flemington Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her husband of fifty-two years, Charles "Chuck" Pfahler; a daughter and son-in-law, Kristin and Fred Heimall of Califon, NJ; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Melissa Pfahler of Little River, SC; a grandson, Charles Pfahler of Little River, SC; and a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Judith Swerk of Newtown, PA.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 11, 2016, at 11:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Sunday 4:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hunterdon Humane Animal Shelter, 576 Stamets Road, Milford, NJ 08848.
