Walter A. Schieck

Walter A. Schieck, age 83 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Kindred Hospital, Dover, NJ. Born in New York City, October 25, 1932, son of the late Walter A. and Marie Hazel Terwilliger Schieck, he had resided in the Flemington area since 1972.

Walter was a graduate of the City College of New York and was formerly a mechanical engineer until he became an owner-operator of five McDonalds Restaurants in New Jersey, located in Flemington, Cedar Knolls, East Hanover, Somerville, and New Providence. He retired in 1988.

Walter served in the US Navy during the Korean War and was a member of McDonalds Owner-Operator Association.

He especially loved traveling, going on cruises, and doing puzzles. Walter also enjoyed spicy food and anything with ketchup.

Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Frances Petrikat Schieck; two daughters, Janice Behnke, and her fiancé, Jeff Rentschler, of Montclair, NJ, and Joyce Whaley, and her husband, Orlando, of Olney, MD.; and five grandchildren, Danielle, Allison, Adam, Brian and Aliya.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 27, 2015, at 10:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Wednesday 3:00-5:00 PM at the funeral home.
