Walter Atamanczuk

Walter Atamanczuk, age 93 years, of Raritan Township, NJ died on Friday, May 1, 2020 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Walter was born in the Ukraine on September 21, 1926. After surviving World War II, he made his way from the Ukraine to the United States as a young man.

He worked as a self-employed window cleaner and glazer for many years before retiring and had resided in the Flemington area for close to forty years.

Walter enjoyed traveling around the United States when he could. Additionally, he loved the holidays, especially having his family around during that time.

Walter was predeceased by his wife of sixty-two years, Pauline (Gudowski) Atamanczuk, who died in 2015, as well as his sons: John Jakubiw, Jerry Atamanczuk, Stephen Atamanczuk. He is survived by his stepson, Wolodymyr “Boots” Jakubiw and his wife Janet Freund of Flemington, NJ and stepdaughter, Mary Walsh, of Whitehouse Station, NJ. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
