Walter "Jim" Van Luvanee, Jr., age 92 years, of Hopewell, NJ, formerly of Stockton, NJ, died on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Doylestown, PA, December 8, 1919, he was the son of the late Walter and Eleanor Van Luvanee, Sr.
He was formerly a truck driver for Tarantola Trucking, Flemington, NJ.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Jennie Tymerszym Van Luvanee in 1983, and also by a sister, Betty Smith. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Holcombe of Ringoes, NJ; a son, Walter Van Luvanee III of Hopewell, NJ; two brothers, Herbert Van Luvanee of New York State and Robert Case of Ringoes; two sisters, Peggy Fisher and Janet Gonshar both of Annandale, NJ; a granddaughter, Susan Lyn Pena; and two great-grandchildren: Zachary and Shelby Pena.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Amwell Ridge Cemetery, Larison's Corner, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6-8 PM in the funeral home.
