Walter Wasilewski Jr., died Friday, March 20, 2015, at his home in Laurel, Delaware.
Born in Nanticoke, PA., April 30, 1937, son of the late Walter Wasilewski, Sr. and Helen Kukish Wasilewski, he had formerly resided in Flemington, NJ most of his life before moving to Virginia where he resided for eleven years and then in Laurel, DE. where he resided fourteen years.
Walt was formerly employed by Exxon Corp in Flemington, NJ and in Linden, NJ until retiring. He later was an equipment operator for the VA. Dept. of Transportation and also worked for the US Postal Service.
Walt was a 1955 graduate of Flemington High School and served with the US Marine Corps 1957-1961 where he was an expert rifleman who broke the Marine Firing Range record.
He was an expert archer who won many archery competitions. Walt was also an avid NY Giants fan and animal lover who especially loved his dogs, Mandy and Shena.
He was pre-deceased by his parents and a son, Walter Sine, Jr., who died in 2004.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-four years, Helen Mount Wasilewski; a son, John Wasilewski of Flemington, NJ; a sister, Maryann McManus and her husband, Tom, of Cary, NC; his step-mother, Josephine Wasilewski of Flemington, NJ; three step-sisters, Marlene Luhrs, Wendy Wasilewski and Joanne Stefanelli; and a step-brother, Edmund Wasilewski.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 11:00AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Wednesday 7:00-9:00PM. Memorial contributions may be made to S.A.V.E., 900 Herrontown Road, Princeton, NJ 08540. (SAVE is a no kill animal shelter.)
