Warren J. Etzel

Warren J. Etzel, age 95 years, formerly of Croton, NJ, died Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Symphony Manor of Feasterville in Trevose PA.

Born May 12, 1922 in Raritan Township NJ, Warren was the son of the late Louis and Eva (Cronce) Etzel. A graduate of Flemington High School with the Class of 1940, Warren lived in Croton NJ most of his life before moving to Pennsylvania one year ago.

Warren served in the Western Pacific during World War II in the United States Army.

After his discharge from the Army, Warren owned and operated Etzel’s Store in Croton for many years. He was a member of the Croton Rod and Gun Club and always very philanthropic. He loved spending time and eating ice cream and cookies with his great-great nephews.

In addition to his parents, Warren was predeceased by his brother, Stanley Eztel. He is survived by his nephew, Robert Etzel of Croton NJ, and several great nieces and great nephews.

Graveside service with Military Honors will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington NJ. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ.

Memorial contributions in Warren’s name may be made to Flemington-Raritan First Aid & Rescue Squad, PO Box 686, Flemington NJ 08822 or to the Salvation Army, 40 East Main Street, Flemington NJ 08822.
