Wayne K. Crouse

Wayne K. Crouse, age 79 years of Raritan Township, NJ, died Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Phillipsburg, NJ, July 14, 1944, son of the late Foster and Bertha Mae Werkheiser Crouse, he was a life-long Hunterdon County, NJ resident.

Wayne worked in corrections as a sheriff’s officer for the Hunterdon County Sheriff’s Department. In addition, he owned and operated a tree service company and worked on various maintenance jobs. The biggest accomplishment Wayne was proud of was his forty-three years of sobriety.

Wayne was a member of the Croton Rod and Gun Club and a lifetime member of the NRA. An avid baseball fan, Wayne was also a high school and college wrestling fan, and enjoyed watching PBR bull riding.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-six years, Florence Crouse; two sons, Kenneth Crouse and his wife, Debra of Hopewell, NJ and Kevin Crouse of Perryville, NJ; one brother, Dale L. Crouse of Florida and one sister, Constance Emmons of Alpha, NJ.

A visitation will be held Monday, June 24, 2024, from 4:00-6:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Funeral services and burial in Bloomsbury Cemetery will be held privately.

Memorial contributions in Wayne’s name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
