Wilbur C. Morton, age 82 years, of Manahawkin, NJ, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 in Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin, NJ.
Born in Flemington, NJ, February 4, 1925, son of the late Raymond and Edna Baker Morton, he had resided in Manahawkin since February of this year, having previously lived in Greenville, NC, Bethlehem, PA, East Amwell Township, NJ and Flemington, NJ.
A United States Army Veteran of World War II, Mr. Morton owned and operated his own truck for over forty years. He also served in the 50th Armored Division of the New Jersey National Guard for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by two children, Dennis Morton in 2003 and Carol Armitage in 2004, as well as a brother, Edgar Morton in 1997.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-eight years, June Marie Fink Morton; a daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Millard Cowart of Delaware Township, NJ; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard W. and Evelynn Morton of Barnegat, NJ; three grandchildren; and four great-granchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Reaville, NJ.
