William C. Reasoner, Sr., age 88 years, of Flemington, NJ passed away February 6, 2012, at home.

Born in Flemington, NJ, March 17, 1923, son of the late Lloyd and Elizabeth Carkhuff Reasoner, he was a 1941 graduate of Flemington High School. He also was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Army from 1943-1946 and was in the Battle of the Bulge.

He resided in Flemington all of his life until moving to Lincolnton, NC for twenty-three years, returning to Flemington in 2008. An avid gardener, he was a member of the Flemington Exempt Firemans Association where he was formerly Chief Ladder Man and was an active fireman for thirty-eight years.

He was formerly employed by Lockwood & Cary Builders, Flemington, NJ; then was Supt. of Building for Turntable Junction and for Liberty Village, Flemington, NJ. He then owned and operated Colony Crafts (a custom cabinet and furniture business) before retiring. When residing in North Carolina, he built birdhouses and made replicas of old buildings and churches.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-five years, May Blodgett Reasoner; four sons, William Reasoner, Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Andover, NJ, David J. Reasoner and his wife, Susan, of Haslet, TX; Douglas K. Reasoner and his wife, Gaye, of Chalfont, PA, and James S. Reasoner and his wife, Joann, of Phillipsburg, NJ; five grandchildren, Brian Reasoner, Tarryn Coy, Kristin Alderman, Kaitlyn Reasoner, and Christopher Reasoner; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Jane Groff of Hampton, NJ.

He was predeceased by five brothers, Harold Reasoner, Bartles Reasoner, Donald Reasoner, Douglas Reasoner and Lloyd Reasoner, Jr., three sisters, Dorothy Goodell, Betty Reed and Mildred Walters and a grandson, Patrick Reasoner.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the Flemington United Methodist Church, Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Burial of ashes will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ.
