William E. Smyth, age 80 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, formerly of Alexandria, VA, died on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at his residence.
Born In New York City, NY, April 3, 1928, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Helen Rockwell Smyth. He was a graduate of Cal Tech with a B.S. in Engineering and was a self-employed Television Engineer for all the major networks.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, and later served as an officer in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.
He was a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and Mensa. He was a competitor in international ballroom dancing and an avid photographer and sailor.
Surviving are a son, Steven E. Landon-Smyth of Matawan, NJ; a daughter, Jennifer Ubel of Raritan Township, NJ; a sister, Nancy Stefani of Las Vegas, NV; and three grandchildren: Shannon, Brianna, and Timothy Ubel.
A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private.
