William F. Keates, Sr., age 77 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Monday, October 1, 2007 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in New Brunswick, NJ, March 3, 1930, son of the late Vincent E. and Mae Korab Keates, he had resided in Flemington for the past year and a half, having previously lived in Piscataway, NJ over fifty years.

Mr. Keates was a Purchasing Agent for National Starch and Chemical Corporation, Bridgewater, NJ for over forty-five years.

A former member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway and Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church in Middlesex, he was a Communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ. Additionally, he was a member of the Serra Club of Somerset and Hunterdon Counties and was involved with the Polish American Cultural Endeavors, Bound Brook, NJ.

Surviving are his wife of fifty-eight years, Shirley Howes Keates; three sons and daughters-in-law, William F. and Dena Keates, Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK, Jeffrey R. and Nancy Keates of Piscataway, NJ and Jonathan G. and Karen Keates of Raritan Township, NJ; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Debra A. and Ed Figiel of East Amwell Township, NJ; Donna Keates of Raritan Township, NJ and Cindy and Charlie Haug of Raritan Township, NJ; fourteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
