William F. Sladden

William F. Sladden, age 79 years, of Bethlehem Township, NJ, died on Saturday, October 11, 2008, in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Flemington, NJ, October 16, 1928, he was the son of the late Harry and Sarah Dalrymple Sladden. He was a longtime resident of Flemington, NJ, before moving to Bethlehem Township, NJ.

He was a United States Marine Corps veteran.

He was a longtime member of the Flemington Fire Department.

His wife, Margaret E. Horn Sladden, died in 2003. Surviving are two sons; Michael Sladden of Ewing, NJ, and William H. Sladden of Flemington, NJ; two daughters; Kathleen Conlin of Spring Hill, TN, and Mary Elizabeth Sladden of Jersey City, NJ; a sister, Ethel "Toots" Kessler of Easton, PA; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral arrangements will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Clover Hill Cemetery, Clover Hill, NJ. There will be no calling hours.
