William Gary Daniels

William Gary Daniels, age 69 years, of Alexandria Township, NJ, died on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at his home.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, May 19, 1940, he was the son of the late Matthew and Lucy Carme Daniels. He had formerly resided in Cedar Grove, NJ, moving to Alexandria Township, NJ in 1998.

He was the retired Postmaster of Springfield, NJ, retiring in 1997 after thirty-seven years of service.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

Mr. Daniels was a member of the Alexandria Equestrian Association and former board member there; a member of the Springfield Elks Lodge; and an avid horseman, New York Jets fan, and New York Yankees fan.

In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by his father and mother-in-law, Jack and Jean Kennedy. Surviving are his loving wife of sixteen years, Kathleen Kennedy Daniels; a daughter, Janice Mayhew; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kirsten Daniels; four grandchildren: Matthew Mayhew, Marissa Mayhew, Zachary Daniels, and Stephanie Daniels; a sister, Claudia Craig; a brother, Barry Daniels; a brother-in-law, John Kennedy; nieces Lucy Craig, Kayla Kennedy, and Melissa Kennedy; and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 8 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Inurnment will be in Immaculate Conception Mausoleum, Annandale, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4-8 PM in the funeral home.
