William Henry Morris died on November 4, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on August 9, 1921, Mr. Morris spent his early years in Villanova, Pennsylvania. After serving during World War II as Second Lieutenant in the U. S. Army Air Corps, he was a pilot for US Air until his retirement in 1981.
Mr. Morris took a lively interest in motorcycles, boats, and antique cars. As a member of the Quiet Birdmen, he continued to fly recreationally for many years after he retired. Mr. Morris possessed a multifaceted and deeply inquiring mind, and throughout his life he was an avid reader who especially enjoyed history and engineering. He was keenly interested in the applied sciences and kept abreast of the latest developments in information technology.
William Morris is survived by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Kathleen, his son William and wife Judy McCluney, son David, daughter Marcia and husband Martin OMara, daughter Susan and husband Michael Muscatiello, son Francis and wife Jeanne, daughter Elizabeth and husband Mark Marchuk, daughter Mary Lou and husband Stephen Payne, as well as by his sisters Margaret Stineman and Katharine Fisher, his fourteen grandchildren, and his three great-grandchildren.
The Morris family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Disabled Veterans Fund.
