William J. Pershyn, age 79 years, of Milford, NJ, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at home.
Born in New York City, November 11, 1935, son of the late John and Ann Kutch Pershyn, he had resided in Milford, NJ most of his life. He also formerly resided in Big Pine Key, Fl. for eight years.
He was formerly co-owner of WilJon Coinop Laundromat, Phillipsburg, NJ and was also formerly a painter with Maso Painting.
Bill served in the US Army 1958-1960. He was a member of Frenchtown American Legion Post #113; Milford VFW Post #7857; VFW Post # 394 of Key West, Fl. and the Moose Lodge of Big Pine Key, FL.
An avid boater and fisherman who enjoyed both freshwater and saltwater fishing, Bill enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren watching their sports activities and also enjoyed gardening.
His wife, Barbara Clawson Pershyn, died in 2006 and his brother, Gerald Pershyn, died in 1983.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Heather Pershyn of Milford, NJ, and Michael and Lisa Pershyn of Elizabeth, NJ; five grandchildren, Jared, Devin, Amanda, Dean and Madison; and one great grandchild, Autumn.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014, at 10:00AM in Our Lady of Victories Church, Baptistown, NJ. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Friday 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00PM at the funeral home.
