William M. Clelland

William M. Clelland, age 68 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died on Sunday, December 24, 2006, in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Plainfield, NJ, June 11, 1938, he was the son of the late William and Isabella Moss Clelland. He had formerly resided in Metuchen, NJ, before moving to Readington Township in 1992.

A graduate of Westfield High School and Ursinas College, Collegeville, PA, he was first employed by the Suburban Transit Corporation, New Brunswick, NJ, then as a locomotive engineer with Amtrak, retiring in 2000.

He served in the United States Army from 1960-1966.

He attended the Flemington Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of several railroad historical societies.

Surviving are his wife, Nancee Rambo Clelland; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Jennifer Clelland III of Hatfield, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancee Lynn and Robert Hanley of Freehold, NJ; and three grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Flemington Presbyterian Church, 10 East Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be from 1-2 p.m. at the Church. Interment will be private in Augustus Lutheran Church Cemetery, Trappe, PA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
