William Miller Farmer, 83, of Pennington, NJ passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Merwick Care and Rehabilitation Center, Plainsboro, NJ.

Born in Flemington, NJ, November 20, 1929, son of the late William Junior Farmer and Carolyn Miller Farmer, he was raised in Plainfield and lived there and then in Westfield, NJ for 35 years before moving to Pennington.

Mr. Farmer worked for various pharmaceutical companies before he and his wife opened up Eagle Printing in Green Brook, NJ, from 1985-1992 at which time he retired.

He attended Plainfield High School and graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Engineering. He also received his MBA from Rutgers. He was a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force in the Korean War and was stationed in England.

A member of the Westfield Presbyterian Church, he served as president of the Board of Trustees and Deacons. He was a past president of the Plainfield Jaycees and was a member of the Dunellen-Green Brook Rotary Club.

His wife of sixty-one years, Hester Watson Farmer, died on June 6, 2013.

Surviving him are four daughters and sons-in-law: Mary Carol and Gail Hart of Flemington, NJ; Kathy and Lindsay Farmer-Smith of Harleysville, PA; Beth and Michael Satow of Winslow, ME; and Meg Farmer and Charlie Wolf of Branchburg, NJ; and six grandchildren: Phillip Hart and wife, Nicole, Allison Hart, Sarah Farmer-Smith, Ryan Farmer-Smith, Erin Satow and Stephanie Satow.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in The Pennington Presbyterian Church, 13 South Main Street, Pennington, NJ with the Reverend Nancy Mikoski, officiating. There will also be a memorial visitation Friday, June 21, 2013 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Holcombe- Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment with Military Honors will be private in the family plot at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ.
