William Milton Curtis, age 79 years, died peacefully at home in Easton, PA after a long struggle with cancer on Friday, March 2, 2012 at his home.

Born June 26th 1932 to Arthur and Ruth Curtis who preceded him in death along with his sisters Marion Bennett and Dorothy Jewell and his wife Grace Isele Curtis.

He is survived by his son Dean and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a devoted husband and father as well as a talented designer, and successful hard working entrepreneur. As a youngster he worked at the Hiram Deats farm, JoHanna Farms and The Lehigh Valley Railroad as a time keeper. He was a member of the Flemington High School Class of 1950 then graduated from Rhode Island School of Design and later earned an MBA from Syracuse University. He became an industrial designer and product manager at Westinghouse, Corning Glass, Johns Manville, and Masonite research. He was a partner in the Nieu Amsterdam Group and worked at Coldwell Banker late in life.

He was passionate about architecture, designed several buildings, developed properties, remodeled and restored homes and businesses and had a few patents. Active in the community, at various times, he was a member of the Kiwanis Club. He was active in Sea Scouts and volunteered his time preparing taxes for the poor, with the Cub Scouts, Indian Guides, and served as a board member on the South Branch of the Raritan Watershed Association (in which he enjoyed swimming as a child) and the Southern Tier arts and craft show in Corning NY.

He is grateful to have been able to visit with family and friends shortly before he passed away. He asks that you remember him simply by living well. He will be missed. Memorial donations may be sent to the Alzheimers Association or the charity of one’s choice.
