William R. Blackman, age 63, died Sunday, June 13, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick NJ.
Born February 19, 1958 in Summit NJ, Will was the son of the late Fred and Helma Erna (Heinsohn) Blackman.
Will had a passion for creating and innovating at an early age. He studied to be an aeronautical engineer and loved working on planes and traveling around with the country with teams to fix and rebuild planes and other commercial aircraft, getting them back into operational flight brought him much pride and joy.
Shortly after his marriage, he chose another career path to become a Master Craftsman and this allowed him the opportunity to be with his family as well. He worked as a builder and carpenter, taking on any task - the more elaborate the better - “if there’s a Will, there’s a way” was he favorite saying. He & his wife, Jacalyn, built three homes together; one in Frenchtown and two in Ringoes. They have lived for many years on the Raritan Township farm he cherished with his family, their dogs, horses and other animals that he loved spending time with, especially the many golden retrievers that brought joy for years to Will and the Family.
Will loved the river, canoeing, hunting, country music, and spending time with his family. There was nothing more important to him in life than his family and friends - he was the rock of the family. Will had a passion and zest for life that moved him to create the best and most enjoyable life possible for his family.
A humble, kind, loving, honest, and genuine man, anyone that had the chance to get to know him, even for a brief moment, experienced these overwhelming traits that shaped the person that Will was – he will be truly missed by so many that words cannot ever describe.
In addition to his parents, Will was predeceased by his sister, Lynda Ann Blackman in 2004. He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Jacalyn Zambelli Blackman; and his two children, William Jr. and Madeline.
