William Robert Blackwell, Sr.,age 86 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died Friday, June 26, 2015, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ
.
He was born in Ringoes, NJ, September 19, 1928, son of the late Gershom and Elsie Smith Blackwell, and had resided in Hunterdon County all his life.
He was a carpenter and mason, then was employed by Kuhl Poultry Equipment and later as a boiler maintenance man by Lipton Tea, Raritan Township, NJ, until retiring.
A US Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of Amwell Lodge #12, F& AM of Lambertville, NJ; AA Scottish Rite of Trenton, NJ and Crescent Temple Shrine of Trenton, NJ. Bob was also an avid ham radio operator.
He was pre-deceased by his brother, Gershom Blackwell.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-seven years, Frances Slack Blackwell; a daughter, Linda Guy of Ewing Township, NJ; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Linda Blackwell, Jr. of Ewing Township, NJ; four grandchildren, John Blackwell and his wife, Casey, Jessica Guy, Richard Guy, Jr. and Daphne Conklin; and a great granddaughter, Courtney Conklin.
