William S. Staples, age 76 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Sunday, November 14, 2010, in Country Arch Care Center, Union Township, NJ.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, April 17, 1934, he was the son of the late Edwin and Elizabeth Hubbard Staples. He had formerly resided in New York City, moving to Flemington in 1983.
He was a graduate of the Philadelphia Art Institute and was an artist with several of his paintings displayed throughout the United States including in the Whitney Museum, New York City.
He waa also a picture framer for Daruma, Inc., New York City.
He was a United States Army veteran serving from 1957-1959.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Staples; two sons, Peter Staples of Flemington, NJ and William Staples of Chicago, IL; a daughter, Marissa Staples of New York, NY; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Sweetnam of New York, NY; and a brother, Joseph Staples, of Philadelphia, PA.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 4:30 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private in Pinegrove Cemetery, Middletown, CT. There will be no calling hours.
